Anaheim Equestrian Center, Anaheim, CA, USA

Dear Rainbow Dash, Shutterfly, and The Big Girl,

Cousin Jessi and I have been very busy having adventures! There has been so much to see and do here in Southern California that I have hardly had time to catch up with writing to you! But we've been taking lots of pictures, since we know that you will have wanted to know where we have been. Cousin Jessi has a dog! Her name is Nikki, and Cousin Jessi loves her very much. Nikki is part German Shepherd, and part something else, we don't know what other kind of dog though. Nikki was very nice and we played the whole afternoon while Cousin Jessi was doing laundry at her mommy's house. Niki is very good at tag, but her favorite game to play is Hide-And-Go-Seek! I LOVE THAT GAME!! I didn't know how to play at first, but Nikki taught me. This is a picture of Nikki and me. Isn't she pretty?

Cousin Jessi went to get a card with her picture on it. It was at a place called the DMV, or the Department of Motor Vehicles. That means they take care of all the people who drive cars to make sure they are safe. It took a very long time, and not everyone there was very happy. But Cousin Jessi was, and so was the nice lady who helped us. She didn't even look at us funny when Cousin Jessi said she wanted to take a picture with a squirrel! I think that EVERYONE should take a picture with a squirrel, it would certainly make ME happier!!

Cousin Jessi has been taking me to the stables where she works with horses. There are 12 horses there: Gingersnap, Ebony, Benji, JJ, Lady and Leona are the small ponies, Dandee, Reese, Smokey, Jade, Luke and Freckles are the big horses. Of course they are ALL big to me, I'm just a little squirrel! But all the horses are very nice, and Cousin Jessi helps take very good care of them. Cousin Jessi teaches little kids how to ride! I even help! Cousin Jessi let's me feed the horses and teach her students about wearing a safe helmet. I took a picture with Lady for you. She is the black and white pony. I am very dirty because I have been working at the stables all day and it is very dusty. I also have put a picture of Dandee and Reese, but you only can see Dandee's ears because we just fed her and she did NOT want to take a picture. She was much more interested in the yummy hay we gave her!

Well that's it for now. I will write as often as I can. I love you all very much. Give The Big Girl a special nuzzle just from me!

Love,
Red, the Pet Squirrel

Rutabegorz, Fullerton, CA, USA

Dear Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and The Big Girl,

I am having a marvelous time with Cousin Jessi! We met her Mommy, Auntie Dottie, and Auntie Mary to go to a Card Making Class today. We made two different kinds of cards, one with a pink bicycle on it that says, "Happy Birthday," and another that has a stamp of a red ribbon on it. We also made a craft to put chocolates in. It was a LOT of fun, and I learned lots of different ways to make pretty cards. I bet Moriah can make pretty cards, too! We used paper and colored pencils, and glitter to make our cards. What kind of craft supplies do you have at your house? When you make cards for people, you can use anything you want, even macaroni!

After the Card Making Class, we went to a restaurant in Fullerton called, "Rutabegorz." They have lots of healthy food there. I tried a dip called hummus. It had black beans in it. It was YUMMY!! I had the whole thing to myself, and didn't even share with Cousin Jessi! Okay, maybe I shared a LITTLE with her, but she was too busy eating her artichoke dip to even notice.

I love you all. Give The Big Girl a special nuzzle just from me!

Cousin Jessi's House, Anaheim, CA, USA

Dear Rainbow Dash, Shutterfly, and The Big Girl,

Well, Cousin Jessi and I are finally home. We visited with Auntie Mary for two days, then we came here. Cousin Jessi lives right next door to Disneyland! We watched the fireworks last night. You can see them really well, and they are VERY loud! I didn't know that they would almost knock me over! I loved all the pretty colors. My favorites were the red ones, but the purple and orange ones were nice, too. They made shapes in the sky. There were stars, hearts, boxes, happy faces, even a Mickey Mouse head. I didn't know that they could make all those shapes! Maybe you could ask The Big Girl's Daddy how they do that. He knows just about EVERYTHING!

It's going to be a lot of fun staying with Cousin Jessi. Next week, she is going to take me to the stables where she works! She teaches children how to ride horses. I'm a little scared because horses are SO much bigger than me! But Cousin Jessi says that they are all very nice, and will like to get scratched. I bet The Big Girl would be brave since she's so big and strong. Maybe when I meet the horses, I should think of Moriah and how brave SHE is, and that would make ME brave, too!

I love you all very much. Give The Big Girl a special nuzzle just for me!

P.S. Since I think everybody should have a pet, I got some fish! Do you think you could feed them?

Auntie Mary's House, Pasadena, CA, USA

Dear Rainbow Dash, Shutterfly and The Big Girl,

Auntie Mary, Cousin Jessi and I made it safely back to Southern California. We stayed at Aunt Sharon's Missionary Farm in Hiko, Nevada. She has LOTS of cows, horses, sheep and two dogs. Her next door neighbor has a giant statue of an alien in their front lawn. They live next to Area 51 on a street called Extraterrestrial Highway. Aunt Sharon was VERY nice, and made us breakfast. I thought her eggs and cheese were the best!

We are spending the night with Auntie Mary and her cat, Binky. I'm sending a picture of Binky and me eating cream cheese for dinner. Binky was too busy eating to look up and smile.

Cousin Jessi is going to take me to our new home tomorrow. She says she lives next door to Mickey Mouse, and we can watch fireworks every night if we want.

I also want to tell Moriah thank you SO MUCH for remembering my name! I forgot how pretty my name is! And it's my favorite color! How did you know?

I love you all very much, and give The Big Girl a special nuzzle just for me.

Love,

Great Basin Hwy, NV, USA

Dear Rainbow Dash, Shutterfly and The Big Girl,

Today was my first day with Auntie Mary and Cousin Jessi, and ALREADY it's been exciting! Auntie Mary drove us across the Salt Flats of Utah. We stopped to take a picture with Cousin Jessie. When she walked out onto the Salt Flats, she almost sunk into the ground! We thought they would be dry and very hard to walk on, just like the trails The Big Girl walks with her Mommy. But the Salt Flats have clay underneath, it feels almost like Playdough.

The salt we eat sits on top, like icing on a cake. Cousin Jessi and I tried some! It tastes just like the salt you eat at home and on french fries.

These are pictures of me in the footprint that Cousin Jessi left on the salt flats. See how deep it goes? I couldn't get out by myself, and it scared Cousin Jessi when she almost fell! It was VERY exciting! I think I'm going to have a lot of fun adventuring. ;)

I love you all very much. Give The Big Girl a special nuzzle from me.

Crystal Inn, Logan, UT, USA

Dear Rainbow Dash, Shutterfly, and The Big Girl,
I had a sleepover with Cousin Jessi and Auntie Mary last night and have decided to go on a wonderful adventure with them. Cousin Jessi said she would take very good care of me, and that I would be able to see lots of fun things and meet many interesting people. I am very excited, and can't wait to send you my pictures. I will also write you stories of where I've been. Maybe, The Big Girl's Daddy can print out these pages and put them in a binder. Then we can read them with The Big Girl's Mommy when I come back! We'll have our very own storybook to read!

One last thing: Before I left, The Big Girl never gave me a name. Can you please ask her what my name is? Thank you very much.

I love you all, and be sure to give The Big Girl a special nuzzle just from me!

Love,
The Pet Squirrel
